Even more proof that the food in New Orleans is the best – the winner of “Best Chef: South” by the James Beard Foundation was a tie between two New Orleans culinary professionals. Congratulations to chefs Sue Zemanick of Gautreau’s and Ivy, and Ryan Prewitt of Peche Seafood Grill.
But wait, there’s more. Also honored was the iconic sno-ball stand Hansen’s Sno-Bliz, and previous Beard winner John Besh who was inducted into the Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America. The Beard Awards are the highest honor available to American restaurants and chefs.
